ARRMA 1/10 SENTON 223S RC Short Course Truck RTR Overview
Joining and advancing in the world of high-speed brushless short course truck bashing is easier than you might think. Just start with the 1/10 scale ARRMA SENTON 223S BLX 4X4 short course truck. With aggressive styling, ready-to-run simplicity, unmatched durability, and premium performance, it has everything you need, at a price you can afford. Plus, it's ready out of the box for 2S or 3S LiPo power!
ARRMA developed the 223S series especially for brushless bashing newcomers who want to grow from 2S to 3S capabilities without adding expensive upgrades or buying a whole new vehicle. The SENTON 223S BLX 4X4 reaches 35+ mph top speeds with a 2S LiPo, matching or beating the best that other manufacturers' 2S bashers can do. Whenever you're ready to go faster, just install a 3S battery. Now you can unleash the short course truck's full 50+ mph potential!
You control how fast your SENTON 223S BLX 4X4 can go with the battery you choose and where you set the Spektrum SLT3 transmitter's throttle limiter switch. With throttle limiting, the SLT3 automatically limits top speed to whatever level you prefer until you're ready for it all. Set the switch to 50% or 75% and you'll never have to worry about moving faster than you can safely manage. Make the transition from 2S to 3S brushless speeds with complete confidence.
The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) built into the short course truck's Spektrum electronics offers another special advantage. With four selectable modes, DSC will automatically correct steering input as needed to improve your control, confidence, and safety, whether you're bashing on high-grip or low-grip surfaces. As you gain experience, just turn off the DSC and use the skills you've mastered.
Everyone can get in on brushless short course bashing fun with the SENTON 223S BLX 4X4. Like all ARRMA vehicles, it's fast and tough — providing new and experienced brushless drivers with amped-up performance straight out of the box. Tough metal and composite materials are used for an easy-to-maintain, super-durable design. The heavy-duty 4X4 drivetrain holds up to extreme bashing, while the all-terrain suspension package and adjustable, oil-filled shocks soak up bumps.
The closed-wheel design of the short course body lets you aim for the block pass in a race without worrying about getting tangled in your competitor's tires. Impact-absorbing composite front and rear bumpers and strong composite nerf bars add more protection, while higher, extended chassis side guards keep out dirt and debris. The high-quality, on-board Spektrum electronics are waterproof, so whatever the conditions, you can bash without fear.
Take your bashing skills to the next level with the 1/10 scale ARRMA SENTON 223S BLX 4X4 short course truck. Just add your choice of battery and charger. Then discover why it's better to be brushless!

Out of the box, it is stunning to look at, the body has an amazing paint job, pretty enough to be a shelf queen! The radio system has great range and is nicely responsive. I am more likely to lose sight of it before I lose signal. Steering and suspension is set up very well out of the box, and for general field running, no problems. Speed wise, on 3s, can't complain, will update the review when I can get some GPS data. And some run time. This is where the Senton has some issues. On a 5300mah/65C 3s pack I got some very inconsistent run times. Both freshly charged and on their first runs, one pack gave me a good 15 minutes, the other was more like 5. On two different 5300mah / 55C 2s packs, two minutes. On all three of the short runs, I was still seeing 3.9v minimum on the cells. Looks like the low voltage cutt-off on the may be set too high. I actually too it to my local hobby shop sorry Otley Modelsport, you are a bit too far away to just pop in, and it is something that they have seen on other cars. To further compound issues, the 2-in-1 Esc/Rx isn't programmable according to Arrma tech support and I've tried to the v2 Spektrum programmer before seeking assistance from them. Not sure if the Rx can be used with an external ESC which would a nice if expensive remedy. It's a real shame that Arrma cut corners on the electronics, as either having a programmable ESC, or being able to sub in a different one without having to sacrifice the stability control and buy a new receiver would have been acceptable alternatives to this solution. In conclusion, your mileage may vary, but if you do buy this truck, a higher capacity battery may be a worthwhile purchase as well as turning it off and on again when the first LVC engages. When it runs, it's fantastic, but can't help but feel I'm back in the NiCd days with the run time.
