Anyone responsible for a drone or unmanned aircraft (including model aircraft) weighing between 250g and 20kg will need to register as an operator. The cost for this will be £9 renewable annually.
Anyone flying a drone or unmanned aircraft (including model aircraft) weighing between 250g and 20kg will need to take and pass an online education package. This is free and renewable every three years.
Both of these requirements become law on 30 November 2019.
From 5 November 2019 the system will be available at Register-drones.caa.co.uk.

5.8GHz FPV Screen & UVR3 U'Fusion FPV Goggles
Using 5.8GHz technology the UVR-3 is compatible with numerous drones on the market and with 48 frequencies available you can ensure a strong an reliable signal with other pilots in close proximity. The 5" HD monitor can be removed from the goggle housing and used separately as a stand alone, real time screen. Then in seconds you are able to slide it back into the housing and re-enter reality helmet for an impressive 120 deg first person view. The screen has numerous adjustable parameters such as brightness, contrast, saturation and language options.
The Navigator is fitted with a 720p HD camera with a 120 deg capture angle for high quality footage 1280 x 720px footage. Capable of video or still photos the camera is activated using the APP and then the footage is stored directly onto an onboard MicroSD card (not included) or streamed via live FPV.
Altitude Hold Mode
The Navigator comes equipped with an 'Altitude Hold' feature for easy and precise flying. The built-in sensors hold the drone at the height you are flying at to give you an even more stable quadcopter. If you move the throttle stick forward the Navigator increases it's height but when you centre the throttle the drone 'locks-in' at its current height until you tell it what to do! This make it easier for beginners and also makes for smoother video at a constant height.
Heading Hold Mode
If heading hold mode is selected at the beginning of a flight it can be a great aid to those learn to fly drones. When a drone faces a different direction the control directions normally change with it, this can make it tricky if you don't have much experience flying like this. Using Heading Hold mode you needn't worry as the Navigator keeps the controls the same whatever the direction of the drone.
Low Battery Alarm
The built in telemetry can alert you then your drone battery is running low on power. The controller will sound beeps as an alarm to and remind you to fly the drone back and land.
One Button Take off/Landing
As you get to grips with flying a drone often the takeoff and landing is the most tricky part. But using the 'One button' takeoff/landing feature this can be done automatically for you. Press once and the drone takes off and holds at a certain altitude, press again and the drone slowly descends until it has landed and then stops the motors.
Easy Change Battery
The lithium battery is supplied in a moulded case specifically designed to fit the Navigator and slot in place in seconds. A single press release disconnects the battery allowing you to change it quickly.
A USB charger is supplied for easy recharging. Simply plug into a standard USB port (such as a phone charger, power pack or computer) and connect the drone battery to the other end. A LED light will indicate when you are ready to fly again.
